Petr Horacek's Busy July!

Walker author and illustrator Petr Horacek has had an exciting month in July with the publication of his glorious new author illustrated title, A Greedy Goat

(I think we can all agree that this cover is divine!)

Petr is an incredibly talented creator and we are delighted to work with him at Walker Books. To celebrate A Greedy Goat, Petr put together a wonderful blog taking us from his inspiration, right at the start of the project, all the way through to being sent finished copies! Check it out by clicking here

A lovely review of a Greedy Goat from blogger Read It Daddy:

Charlotte's best bit: Goat's terrible turn as the awful diet takes its toll and changes her from a beautiful white goat to all the colours of the rainbow. Yikes!

Daddy's favourite bit: A thoroughly entertaining and hilarious romp with a naughty but endearing central character who gets her just desserts (and dinner)!

But Petr has also been a busy bee working with Shakespeare's Globe, teaming up to support the Shakespeare's Telling Tales Festival which has been taking place across July.

On the 25th of July Petr Took over the Globe's Instragram feed where he showed us all how to make a gorgeous concertina book. There's a little sneak preview below but check the whole thing out here

And also a yummy interview all about Petr's inspiration and even a little look at some gorgeous artwork from The Blue Penguin, which publishes in November. Have a read by clicking here

Overall a massive congratulations to Petr on his very busy month and a huge shout out to the wonderful Telling Tales Festival.

Get your tickets to Shakespeare's Telling Tales at The Globe!

The main events not only include former and current children’s laureates Chris Riddell, Anthony Browne and Michael Morpurgo, but also David Almond, Marcia Williams, Viv French and Petr Horacek.
